Alexandria Boutique Warehouse Sale - Feb 7!

It's that time of year again...Alexandria's finest boutiques are banding together to liquidate merchandise, and in doing so we're bringing you spectacular, unheard of deals! This year's sale will again be held on Saturday, February 7 at the Masonic Temple in Old Town from 9am -4pm. Of course, we'll be there. We'll have winter merchandise at around 75% off original prices, and we'll likely have some discounted resort wear, too! If you're new to this sale, here are our best tips for making it a truly successful trip:

1.) Get there early, sista! It begins at 9, but you'll want to be there as early as you can stand it. Since event organizers only allow a certain number of people in at a time to shop, if you're there early you can have the best selection - no need for pushing, shoving or hair pulling at this sale, ladies!

2.) Like the Filene's "Running of the Brides" sale suggests, forgo the make-up to keep from getting on retailers' clothes...potentially things you'll want to buy!

3.) Wear layers if you have to, but wearing a camisole and some sort of leggings is suggested so that if you'd like to pull a piece of clothing on you can easily do so. Many boutiques try to offer some sort of make-shift dressing room, but it won't be glamorous and if you don't want to wait in line you can try on over your cami & leggings.

4.) Bring cash! Of course most (or all?) boutiques will accept credit cards, you'll make life easier for yourself and have more time to shop if you pay with cash. Some shops may even be offering a discount for paying with cash!

5.) Think ahead for upcoming events or gifts you need to buy. While you may find items at the sale you don't need right away, these are the deepest discounts you'll find on premium quality goods and buying something now to use later can be the way to go! This blogger often looks for Mother's Day or birthday gifts and sales like these. But remember, there most often are no returns allowed, so make sure you know the person you're giving to very well.

New Autumn Cashmere - Winter's not over yet!

Brrrrr - did you see those brief flurries around 10:30 this morning? Luckily, we've got you covered...and yes, winter IS still here.
